Now Google’s Magazine Too: ‘Think Quarterly’
Google has entered into the publishing market with the launch of its own magazine in the UK, a publication called ‘Think Quarterly’. Name says it all. It will come out four times a year.
“At Google, we often think that speed is the forgotten ‘killer application’ – the ingredient that can differentiate winners from the rest. We know that the faster we deliver results, the more useful people find our service,” said Matt Brittin, managing director of Think Quarterly.
But don’t think that this is an in-house project for Google. This is powered by Issuu, the London-based publishing platform. Its other clients include companies like Volkswagen, Activision, and Hyundai. Google also says that its trade publication is merely an extension of its regular newsletters and official blog updates and isn’t meant for a general audience.
This time their theme is ‘data’ with 68 pages, which is designed by the creative group ‘The Church of London’. The top story in the 62-page magazine is a look at Vodafone CEO Guy Laurence’s insights on data overload. The next edition is set to launch in May. The publication is also available on the Web and mobile devices.
Think Quarterly can be viewed in two different layouts: a more traditional online format or a full-screen view that is reflective of the typical print magazine experience. You can read the entire magazine at ThinkQuarterly.co.uk, in either a traditional Web page format or as a full-screen recreation of the dead-tree magazine experience.
