Imagine that you were Googling in the net for some information and while you were searching you came across that some of your friends had suggested some links which they like. So, if that link is relevant for your need, what will you do then? It’s sure that you won’t go for a second opinion and will definitely click that link. Isn’t it? So, by understanding such a possibility Google has updated its search systems to include more data about what users’ friends have liked on social networks, the company announced .

Through this user who is logged in will be able to see if a site has been recommended by their friends on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or other public profiles. So, Google Social Search results will no longer appear only at the bottom of the page, but will instead be “blended” throughout the page.

Mike Cassidy, Product Management Director, and Matthew Kulick, Product Manager, Google, said that the upgrade was “enabling you to get even more information from the people that matter to you, whether they’re publishing on YouTube, Flickr or their own blog or website. With these changes, we want to help you find the most relevant information possible, personalized to your interests and the people you care about.”

In Oct. 2009, Google began indexing links and social connections as part of its Labs program. In January 2010, Google made Social Search available to all of its users, adding Buzz a few months later.

So, Google is planning to come with more ‘social’ offerings as Google’s social network, Orkut’s, popularity remains confined to Brazil. And majority of the people is behind other social networking sites. The new changes will roll out first on Google.com in English, and they will appear in the coming week, Google said in their blog. I think now Google has realized that sometimes Friendship is thicker than water. So, from now onwards we can look for some opinion from our friends too.
