It seems 2011 is going to be the year of handshakes between AT&T and Android. Tying its bond with Google’s Android, AT&T is going to release 12 Android devices in the year of 2011. iPhone’s coming to the proximity of Verizon persuades AT&T to even take a leap forward to get engaged with 20 4G enabled smartphones this year.

Following Apple’s decision of concluding its exclusive deal with the chief network service provider, AT&T is now spreading its focus across several other smartphones which primarily includes Android based devices and 4G enabled ones. For Google’s Android, the already successful technology may find yet another push to its popularity and ubiquituosness getting attached with the leading AT&T.  As per the news in the air, Motorola Atrix 4G and HTC Inspire 4G coming to the market from the second week of February, 2011 would start the show. On the other hand Verizon, the prime competitor of AT&T, is going to sell iPhones starting from February 10, 2011. Verizon, so far, was the biggest supporter of Android technology; however it may now shift its interest from Android to iPhones.

AT&T service costs, in comparison with other carriers are little higher. However, this could hardly affect the craze for iPhones in the US and worldwide. Given the choice of iPhones with Verizon and other carriers, would surely make one happy to have his favorite device with comparatively less expenditure. This could further enrich the popularity of iPhones. However, Apple may lose special attention from any given network provider like they used to have from AT&T. Talking about Android market, its fans would now have the choice of AT&T as well. It may also be possible that Android’s remarkable eminence could offer AT&T even a higher throne.
