Microsoft seems to be concentrating on just one mantra right now: Cloud Computing.

In the meeting held by Microsoft for its financial analysts yesterday, the theme was clearly visible. Most of the presentations in the meeting, which the company organizes to present its strategy for its consumer, enterprise and small and medium business markets, gave due importance to the recent revolution of cloud computing.

Microsoft COO Kevin Turner seems to have learned from past follies. Last year, Microsoft had declared their motto as “providing the customers’ choice”. Well, Turner had to swallow in some pride and admit that they made a mistake in allowing customers to decide whether they want cloud computing solutions or not. Microsoft’s updated motto now is to be “leading with the cloud.” Not anything new about it after CEO Steve Ballmer included a small note during his recent speech at the University of Washington saying that Microsoft is “all in” when it came to the matter of cloud computing. But a reaffirmation is appreciated nonetheless.

During the meet, Turner seemed aglow with enthusiasm as he compared the company to prime rivals like Google, where it won by experience and strength. He did not miss out on the statistics which say that 70 percent of Microsoft’s cloud computing victories during the latest quarter were new customers.
