China To Get HTC Smartphones With Froyo Onboard
It was just recently that a Verizon employee (we aren’t too sure about that yet) confirmed rumours that Android smartphones will be bumped up to Froyo. We even got the scheduled date as the 6th of August. The latest news from HTC China’s website removes any room for doubt, if there was, in fact, any left.
HTC has declared that all of the smartphones which they recently declared would be setting sail for China, would be carried some extra weight with them. All the new models, including the Desire and the Wildfire which have already been released in a few other places, would run Android 2.2 or the Froyo right from day one.
Further news elucidates that all these models will incorporate the HTC Sense, which holds quite some promise with the included Froyo. HTC is surely learning how to pave its way through the masses, considering that it hasn’t been too long since it decided to drop the Dopod façade and promote itself full-on.
Yes, sure the Chinese will taste the good things first. But this is the earliest guaranteed hope for those longing for the Froyo update on their new HTC Desire handsets. And this batch will be the second ever to be equipped with the latest Android version after Google’s Nexus.
