Android Tablet From LG Confirmed For A Q4 2010 Release
We heard of LG’s announcement earlier this month that it is finally planning to take the first step into the Android tablet world. This time around, LG has confirmed that we get to lay our eyes upon the device in the coming Q4.
LG released a statement today confirming that their new, and their first, tablet pc running on Android, will be launched in Q4 2010, and will be a part of the Optimus Series of smartphones and tablet devices. The last time we heard, the Optimus Z running Android 2.1, had hit the South Korean market and was the third in that particular production line.
The part of the announcement made by LG, which was actually meant for the latest Optimus Z smartphone, which caught everyone’s interest was, “more Optimus devices are in the pipeline, including the launch of LG’s Android tablet in the fourth quarter of 2010.”
And we got to hear even more of it from LG, “Running on the Android Platform, LG’s tablet will deliver vastly superior performance than other similar devices currently on the market while still managing to be thinner and lighter than competing devices.”
This might see LG leading the competition against Apple iPad’s popularity, which many electronics have tried to counter, without much success. Though most of these only went as far as Microsoft Windows 7, some managed to run on Android as well.
