Android 2.2 Soon On Droid X 300x200 Droid X, Other Droid Models To Be Upgraded To Froyo Soon

One of the most anticipated releases in recent times is sure to make a lot of people happy. The Android 2.2 upgrade is soon coming to Droid X phones. Sure, we know that Android 3.0 isn’t too far off either, for that matter. But, ever since the gadget running Android 2.1 has been released to the masses, there has been a constant nudging to upgrade to the Froyo.

For long, folks over at Motorola, Verizon and HTC have assured us that most of their Droid models will be soon blessed with the Froyo upgrade. We think it is about time they kept their word. The first one to be bumped up with the upgrade will be the Motorola Milestone.

Though there hasn’t been much news nor any confirmation yet, word is out that the upgrade is for real this time around. The tipster, allegedly a Verizon employee, reportedly told via AndroidSpin that the Froyo update will start arriving on the 6th of August and will continue rolling up to the 15th. Along with the Droid X, Motorola Droid and HTC Incredible are also on the list for the 2.2 version.

We better keep our devices ready for the promotion because this is one chance anyone would hate to miss.
