One of the fastest growing markets is the Android one. And looking at the latest stats from AndroLib, the figure for the number of Android applications in the store stands at a breathtaking 100,000. However, the estimate is only a projected result buy conceivable by the end of July.
As of the present, the number of Android apps slightly crosses the 90,000 mark, including more than 9,000 additions after the start of this month. According to AndroLib, they conduct their calculations, taking into account the Android apps published throughout the globe, and there may be times when deleted apps get included into this list. They also said that it is not too unusual for the number of active apps to grow by more than a thousand in a day’s time.
The astronomical rise is certainly encouraged by Google launching the App Inventor for Android. This one allows anyone to create new applications, even non-developers, since as the Inventor touts, “ requires no programming knowledge and instead of writing code, you visually design the way the app looks and use blocks to specify the app’s behavior”.
Compared to Apple though, Android is just small fry. The figures quoted by AndroLib fall more than just a little shy off the App Store count: over 200,000.
