Adobe is soon to cater to Mac users as well. Adobe Audition, a professional music application for the audio post-production scenario, has been prepared for a beta launch towards the end of this year.

Right now, the software version 3.8, which is compatible with Windows OS, features tools for audio editing, multitrack mixing, audio restoration and recording. However, one important factor to consider is Mac’s access to an already large number of music applications, like Logic, Pro Tools, Cubase, et al. On which user market will then Adobe focus? One of their top execs makes this answer clear.

“It’s a pretty saturated musician market, but there is a hole in the fast editing, post-production market. That’s where you’re going to be able to take advantage of Audition,” Jason Levine, Adobe Senior Worldwide Product Evangelist for Dynamic Media, told The Loop.

Levine strongly vouches for the uniqueness of Audition. And surely he should, especially when Adobe has improved on the already-existing superb features of the application. As mentioned on Adobe’s website. the new version of Audition for Mac will include superior noise reduction capabilities, powerful editing and mixing views, optimised audio post-production workflows and fast start-up and processing, to name a few. We have no doubts about the great potential it has when it comes to wooing users, either.

“Audition has long been a favorite tool for audio editing because of its audio restoration features and the ability to edit audio visually,” said Elaine Montoya, CEO and founder of Zocoloco Studios. “Because I work on a Mac, I’ve been limited to what ProTools has to offer. Now that Audition is going to be on the Mac, it will definitely be my tool of choice for creating high-end audio for our studio’s motion graphics and video projects.”
