After China, Nokia updates itself in Singapore. At the Nokia Connection event in Singapore on Monday, Nokia slid out their new QWERTY slider, X5. An attempt to bridge the yawning gap between Nokia X3 and Nokia X6, the uber-chic X5 nevertheless takes some credit in its own stride.
With access to Ovi Music, excellent sound quality, dedicated music keys and loud speakers, a strong factor going for the X5 is surely its musical quotient. A 5.0 megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom and the quintessential LED flash makes sure the click-savvy audience isn’t disappointed. The socializing aficionado has his expectations covered as well, with the full slide-out QWERTY keyboard to stay updated on the move. The device supports all the major IM and webmail services out of the box and also offers easy access to major social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and Hi5). Reportedly some new innovative input features also let upcoming DJs spin the phone to switch to a random track and also increasing the wow factor with Nokia’s Comes With Music unlimited subscription service support. With Symbian S60 3rd edition as its base, the X5 also boasts of a 200MB internal storage and a 2GB microSD card (extendable to 32 GB) to support 24 hours of music.
Coming in blue, pink, purple, green and black, the quoted retail price will be $194 when it hits the markets.
