skype on facebook Facebook Tries to Randomly Bring Up Some Skype TalkTaking friendship to a new level, for us as well as for itself, Facebook has started randomly prompting users to log on to Skype to discover more friends. Some time today morning, the first tipster, Andres, first reported seeing the prompt on his facebook  homepage, which though disappeared on refreshing the page.

Previously on Facebook, you could search for your friends or have the service go through your contacts on other communication platforms like your email accounts (for e.g. YahooMail) or IM contacts. Skype is one of the options where you can log on and let your contact list be checked against the Facebook user database.

The new prompt, which darXness uploaded the second available screenshot of, even makes your job easier by typing in your Skype username. No, no, don’t stare with your mouth agape: they just took it from your list of shared info. The absence of the same prompt on the refreshed page seems to imply that Facebook is bringing this to our notice on an arbitrary basis. This could coax a few shy users to share their Skype details and rope in a bigger circle of friends.

Though everyone seems to have heard this anew, Ouriel Ohayon claims he saved a screenshot of this a week ago. Since today morning, a lot of users have come up with their confirmations. If you haven’t seen it as of yet, just wait awhile. I’m sure you’re up next.
