Sony Introduces ‘Future-Proofed’ Home Entertainment With 3D TVs, Gaming

Taking home entertainment to a new height, Sony has announced introducing 3D televisions and 3D games. As of now, the company says, Sony 3D games can only be explored through its PlayStation 3 (PS3) console. Only thing, they say, you will be required to upgrade your PS3 consoles using a firmware update in order to ensure seamless enjoyment with 3D gaming. A 3D-capable TV will be an added requirement for your PS3 to support the new technology.

After ensuring an early entry of 3D televisions and 3D gaming into your living room, the Japanese consumer electronics giant has successfully able to display a message reading: Sony is a name to reckon with!
Initially, the next-generation Sony 3D offer is available only for the people living in Japan, North America, and Europe. Presently, Sony is ready to push its 3D TV products into two categories. In one category, you will get glasses and a transmitter box along with your TV purchase. Models included in this type are a 60-inch set and a 52-inch set that costs US$5,000 and $4,000 respectively. Transmitter box is an essential item in your 3D TV set that helps synchronizing your glasses with TV.
The other category of Sony 3D TV sells includes 5 other models where you have to purchase your glasses and transmitter separately. Costs of these models vary from $3,400 to US$2,100.
