Sesame Street is all set to come packaged with a cover that hides buttons on the Wii Remote. The plush covers, which can be mistaken for Elmo or Cookie Monster will ensure that the Nintendo controller does not confuse little players any further. “Sesame Street” characters have starred in titles for the Wii and Nintendo DS systems too. Handheld version of games will be equipped with a larger stylus. This is to help young kids, who have smaller hands, so their connections are simplified with the Nintendo DS’ touch screen.
The company is the first to introduce such an aid. They are planning to let preschoolers pay and try to learn from these ‘Sesame Street’ games without feeling frustrated with the controller.
Scott Chambers, Sesame Workshop senior vice president of media distribution said that this is the first time anything like this has been developed and licensed for Nintendo. He added that the new pair of “Sesame Street” games, which will also be available for the PC, have been designed so that 3-to-5-year-olds will not seek parents and require minimal involvement from parents. Please note that oft, fuzzy “gameplay helpers” for “Elmo’s A-to-Zoo Adventure” and “Cookie’s Counting Carnival,” will be available this fall and is set to cover 80 percent of the controller and won’t cost extra .
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment signed a deal with Sesame Workshop, the nonprofit educational organization. It produces “Sesame Street” in over 140 countries, which will help create and publish a series of games for various platforms.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is the division of Time Warner Inc.’s Warner Bros. They are responsible for publishing games based on such franchises, such as, Looney Tunes and DC Comics. Also, movies like “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Terminator Salvation.” There are original games like the last year’s “Scribblenauts” for the Nintendo DS.
