Create and Collaborate easily – that’s what Google Docs aims to do. If you want to demonstrate Google Docs to a Microsoft user or anyone who is unaware of Cloud Computing and Real-Time Collaboration – you should try out Google’s new site, docs.google.com/demo, which lets any user (even without a Google account) try full-fledged versions of its word processor, spreadsheet, and drawing tool, the three full-fledged editors. No signups or login required, really! Although it is not difficult to create a Google account, at times, you want to show someone how Google Docs works but not reveal sensitive information from your Google account.

When you click on the website, a newly generated document prompts you to start typing. However, the sample document which you are editing would be available only for 24 hours. The document also comes with a link, which allows you to invite users (who need not have a Google account too) to collaboratively edit it again. Similar instructions and options are available for the spreadsheet and drawing editor.

The site aims to reduce the barrier to experience the Google Docs capabilities and lets people try it for themselves, even if they do not have a Gmail account. Most have a Gmail account today. However, there are a few who don’t have one too and they are generally the hardest to convince to try out Cloud Computing and Real-Time Collaboration. By allowing non-users to try out the simplicity and versatility of use of Google Docs, Google is aiming to convince the users who try out this demo to “Go Google!” It is also a great option for users who want to create documents on the fly, prefer not to use Google account at public computers for security reasons. They can open the demo page, create a document share the link and move on. As simple as that!google docs demo Use Google Docs without a Google Account
