Weebly launches new managed site builder for students

Weebly launched new managed site builder.

Weebly is a startup which will assist us to easily build websites by using a drag-and-drop interface. They are looking forward to capitalize on it. Weebly, launched a new product aimed at educators and their students this morning. This product helps school-children who are not familiar with the basic concepts of CSS or HTML to develop their own online blogs and reports with the least amount of effort.

Though it has some key differences, this product is similar to the usual Weebly editor. The first one is that Weebly has removed all of its retail features and monetization that would not be relevant to students. More importantly, the site allows teachers to manage the accounts of their students. As schools do not want some of this content to be available to the public, teachers can manage to keep their class’s accounts set to Private. This means only the teacher and student can view it.

There are several advantages for this and the obvious one is for personal blogs and reports. Teachers can create their own group websites which are publicly available. They can therefore enable students to upload assignments easily. Parents can also go through this site to check what their child is up to at school. Weebly, provide teachers a new level of customization and it is user friendly to boot.

Weebly offers the product free of cost for teachers with up to forty students. Weebly also announced that they had partnered with National History Day. National history day is a celebration held at schools across the country where more than five lakh students create a research project describing a historical event. The students are having the freedom to create a web site for their project. This year Weebly is the only officially sanctioned one to do that.
