Buzzd is a service that pulls its information from Twitter and other Buzzd users to get a clear picture about the places that people are hanging out. It is a free iPhone application. We need to load the program and it will give us a list of near by venues that are popular at present. The list is created based on the number of people discussing on Buzzd and Twitter. It uses location information which is pulled from Twitter. The data is pulled from Twitter profiles of users’ profiles by using the Geolocation API. This will change soon.

Click on a place so that we will get the details like a small description on it, how far it is and its phone number. We can see ‘buzzes’ regarding it which means the things people are talking about a venue on Twitter and in the Buzzd community. We can also ‘Buzz It’ which means we can post a short description regarding the place of interest in the community. We can send that information to Twitter. The fascinating observation about this service is that we can view all this data without creating an account. For making a ‘buzz’, we need to create an account. If a user does not care about buzzing data by him, he can use it passively.

Buzzd has been around the mobile web and in BlackBerry for a little while. Buzzd is not a complex application, but it is notably suitable for its service.
