ahaAha Mobile Launches Traffic And Road Entertainment iPhone App

Mobile applications that provide voice-based traffic reports, crowd-sourcing and entertainment are undoubtedly worthy. Aha Mobile has launched the latest version of their iPhone application, which takes a speech-based, non-map-centric approach to traffic reports in real time. Aha launched its free application in august in few selected cities. They had launched their national traffic coverage today morning. They have added few, social media and entertainment and features to the application.

Aha designed this application keeping driver safety in mind. We can record and share personal traffic reports to help the people around us. We can also listen to customized traffic reports and channels regarding the roads via which we are traveling. The application has just four buttons. This application is safe at speeds of 65 miles per hour or less. The user can preset the roads into the application before getting on to the road. Thus, we can access them automatically without taking eyes off the road to input the information.

Aha alerts us for nearby drinks and food by pulling in information from Yelp.   Another strong side of the application is crowd-sourcing the traffic information. To use Aha Application, drivers just need to tap their iPhone and then speak for up to 15 seconds. Thus, without taking the eyes off the road user can safely broadcast voice messages known as Aha Shouts to nearby drivers. If a person witnessed an accident on the highway, he could tape a shout. Aha would store this Shout so that those users who are driving along the same route can access this information.

Drivers can post Aha Shouts to Twitter and Facebook now so that other users can hear. Drivers can customize the type of Shouts that will go to their social networks. Aha’s application has one amusing feature. The “Caraoke” space allows Aha users to record 15 seconds of singing along to any song in the car. Other Aha users can see fellow users’ recordings. Users can publish their “Caraoke” to Facebook or Twitter.
