College selection process is a period of confusion, disappointment, and moments with joy. Students will feel fear of ragging, too. AcceptEdge is a startup aiming to support the public in choosing the right college. The website will ask us a string of questions. These questions are about the academics, personal histories, family etc. Other details of SAT scores, GPA etc are also collected. It will also ask preferences regarding the school. The site considers our interests outside the school, music we love, books we like etc. We can connect Facebook account to this site if we want to save time lost for typing the details.

After we answer these questions, the site will analyze the answers and displays an ‘Edge Score’. This edge score defines how competitive we are when compared to our peers. It also gives the list of colleges matching our qualification and interests. The percentage give with the list indicates how closely we fit to those colleges. Extensive data on school’s admission history, information on predictive indicators for admission are also given.

There are many sites which provide prediction on colleges by analyzing our test score. We should not rely on these sites entirely. We should make use of this site to find reputable colleges which are unknown to us.  Other sites useful in college guidance include College Confidential, CampusBuddy and The Princeton Review.
