New online CV builder, CeeVee is following VisualCV and JobSpice to make a run for its money. Aside from the lovely name, it aims to become the simplest CV-builder in the market. It has now opened up after being in private beta. Everyone might be thinking about the necessity of CV sites when we have LinkedIn. Everyone is not into LinkedIn’s sparse and corporate presentation. Therefore, CeeVee, just like its competitors do, also aims the consumer marketplace using a simpler interface. It seems that Human Resources people are not keen on busy CVs. Hence, we used this design approach.

In addition to the above point, LinkedIn will not allow the user to share or export one’s resume in social circumstances. Founder Lee Wilkins told that heir aim is to work with Human Resource departments and companies to create a more standardized format. It is certainly much simpler and better looking than some of the CV designs available on VisualCV. The CeeVee site is having a refreshing vanity URL feature. If your name is Jenna, you can nab CeeVee.com/jenna, though this may limit the website’s appeal to other Jenna’s on the planet. They are working to design company profiles, a jobs committee and search amongst other things in the near future. The site features Share twitter buttons and FaceBook Connect with more coming.

Romania-based Wilkins started this as a pet project in September 2008. Now, the bootstrapped venture is planning to expand into localized version for key markets in European countries like Russia, Spain and Italy. They also aim abroad into Asia such as India.
