Samsung TVs 400 Hz? Well, it is true that Samsung is going to take us in to the next generation TVs (as such the current generation TVs are only 60Hz-100Hz). So even if you buy it, it will be too fast to see. The IFA trade show unveiled this TV from the future and the secret ingredient is Motion Flow Technology!

Motionflow technology developed by Samsung (as well as Sony) increases the clarity in the images by intelligent addition of new frames to get a crystal clear image and reduce the blur effects. The Motionflow multiply the number of frames you see on screen. In other words, the new frames that are inserted into fast-moving sequences providing much more sharp images compared to a normal TV. In effect it analyzes the information it gets from the before and after frames in every sequence, and Motionflow predicts motion in all directions and hence creates brand new pictures based on this information. Motionflow at 400Hz means 400 frames per second, eight times the standard frame rate.

It combines the 200Hz interpolation technique to insert black frames, a technique that is called BFI / DFI [black frame, dark frame interpolation].

Samsung is gearing for mass production later this year, but we will have to wait and watch for the difference in picture quality.
