The problem that we often encounter with our Outlook calendars is remote inaccessibility. The world has become flat. We are always on the move and the only thing that keeps us connected is the internet. Google calendar has all the features of Outlook and has gone one step further. As we are all addicted to our mobile phones, it has sync function for iPhones and other smart phones.
We all are lazy to change until it is assisted. Well, Google is here to assist you. You can migrate from Outlook to Google by just following the steps we have charted for you!
1. Open Outlook
2. Click File menu
3. Click Import and Export
4. Click Export to a file
5. Click Comma Separated Values (DOS)
6. You may be required to install the possible translator here if it isn’t preinstalled. In that case, follow the directions on the screen.
7. Select folder to export from: Calendar
8. Browse, name, and save the file some place easy to find it like your Desktop
9. Click Next
10. After the computer works out its magic, click the Finish button.
11. Open your internet browser and go to Google
12. Open Google Calendar and log in with your Google account (same as Google mail)
13. Click the small ‘Add’ link in the bottom right corner of the “Other calendars” box that’s on the left side of your calendar page.
14. Click the Import Calendar link under Calendar settings
15. Click the Browse button and select your exported file
16. Choose your calendar
17. Click Import and wait. It may take a bit of time depending on your netspeed.
18. When it is done, (which can be far far away depending on your isp) it will magically let you know!
After this you can curse your outlook (not recommended)!
