System requirements for windows 7
Microsoft has released the Windows 7 RC on May 5th 2009 for the ordinary people and confirmed reports say that the final version will be available in October. Microsoft has published the minimum system requirements for installing and running Windows 7 PC. The system specification is less in the case of Windows 7 when comparing with that of Vista. This difference can be noted in the memory requirements of the two OS.
The minimum system requirements specified are
1GHz processor which can be either 32-bit or 64-bit
1GB of RAM Hard disk space of 16GB (20GB for 64-bit users)
Graphics device supporting DirectX 9 with WDDM 1.0 or a higher driver
For running the Window XP mode in Windows 7, you require a PC with a minimum of 2GB of memory and an additional disk space of 15 GB. For running Windows Virtual PC, the requirement is a PC with Intel-VT or AMD-V enabled CPU, as these processors takes the advantage of the latest advancements in the field of hardware virtualization.
