riman RI MAN, a Japanese health care robot

This robot will be very handy in the future health care sector. With tactile sensors attached to its upper arm it can measure the magnitude of force on its arm while picking up a patient. In addition, it can also sense the position of the contact force while a task is being done. This five feet tall robot can carry a weight of 12 kgs. It has a soft skinned humanoid upper body and the lower body is a wheeled base. Joints of the robot are operated upon by 15 small controllers which control the motors, sensors and wiring networks. This distributed controller network provides it adequate speed and also reduces its size by reducing wiring complexities. 320 pressure sensors under its think layer of silicon skin enable it to adjust its softness as per the requirement. Another feature of this new robot is its cup shaped ears; these help it in tracking the direction of sound and also changes in the spectrum of sound. By the integration of information from visual and auditory sensors this robot can tract human faces and sound sources. A gas sensor module contained in RI-MAN robot can identify smells and this may make it more useful in health related sectors. Sensors on the right and left torsos of this humanoid can accurately predict the type of the gas it is exposed to and also the concentration of the same. It can accurately differentiate eight different smells. This 220 pound robot is basically a health care oriented robot designed to care for the elderly.

    Nice blog, very informative!
If you would like to get this out to a wider audience I’d counsel you try a press release.
There are many free press release services accessible and I’m always glad to offer any recommendation on writing and arrangement.
