iphone 3Gs is here and everyone is just itching to upgrade their old iphones to the latest iphone 3gs. However, iphone fans are in despair since the cost of upgrading to iphone 3Gs from their old iphone 3G is about 399 – 499$ (16 Gb and 32 Gb). These are for people who are not eligible for subsidized pricing brought forward by AT & T.

Followed by the angry protests made by iphone fans, we hear AT & T have allowed customers who are eligible to upgrade to the new iphone for 199 or 299 $ according to Business Insider. These users do not have to pay the 200$ fee that was initially introduced.

You can check whether you are eligibile at the portal provided by AT&T. Customers can also order from http://www.wireless.att.com/iphone/

Despite this, iphone 3Gs comes bundled with a wide range of features that would make anyone go Ga-Ga. I personally wouldn’t mind shelling out an extra couple of hundred bucks just to have this beauty in my pocket. So whats new?

Awesome performance!

Well, its super fast! Apple claims that iphone 3Gs has 2x the speed of the old iphone 3G. With 3D graphics rendering and its awesome performance, apple provides the ultimate gaming platform in phones. Unlike the previous iphone 3G, the phone supports both Open GL ES 2.0 and 1.1 where as iphone 3G supported only 1.1 version. What does this mean? It means the 3D rendering is much better in the new iphone. The latest version of the phone also includes a 256MB RAM, up from 128MB on the iPhone 3G, and a 600MHz processor to boot.

Huge space!

iphone 3Gs comes in two versions,16Gb and 32Gb. For all those apple fans who couldn’t imagine iphone as a replacement for their ipod can find solace in the new iphone 3Gs. Attractively priced at 199 and 299$ for new users, it certainly appears to be the King of all mobile phones out there.

Nice Camera!

Thats right apple made the right choice this time by replacing their old 2 mega pixel camera in iphone 3G with the new 3 mega pixel Camera with auto focus. With the camera, you can record high quality videos (VGA mode) in landscape or portrait. Now isn’t that nice? Tapping the screen will let you zoom in although it still lacks the flash component which most of the other camera phones bring out.

Tether your way through.

What now? With iphone 3Gs you can share the power of 3G with your computer be it a mac,pc or a laptop. You can share it via USB or even wireless.

So final words, is it worth it? Well i would think so, if you are ready to shell out a few hundred bucks then buy it as soon as you can.Packed with all these amazing features, its does live upto its name. Its not a mobile phone, its an iphone.
